The Gaming Technologies Association (GTA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Daniel Maloney as General Manager of Policy, Strategy, and Industry Relations, a newly created senior leadership role within the Association.

Daniel’s appointment follows an extensive and highly competitive recruitment process and reflects GTA’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its policy capability, strategic leadership, and engagement with government and industry stakeholders at both state and national levels.

GTA Chair Anthony Ball said Daniel brings a depth of experience that will be instrumental in advancing the Association’s mission during a period of increasing regulatory complexity.

“Daniel brings over a decade of significant experience in policy development, strategic planning, and industry engagement,” Mr Ball said. “His leadership will be instrumental in advancing our mission while strengthening our relationships across the sector. We are confident that Daniel’s expertise will help GTA navigate the emerging regulatory challenges we are likely to face in the years ahead.”

Daniel joins GTA from the NSW Minns Labor Government, where he served as Deputy Chief of Staff and Communications Director to a number of ministerial portfolios, including Better Regulation and Fair Trading; Industry and Trade; Innovation, Science and Technology; Building; and Corrections.

GTA Chief Executive Officer Jinesh Patel said Daniel is a highly accomplished policy and corporate affairs professional with a strong track record across government and industry.

“Daniel has held senior Director-level roles across policy, industry relations, stakeholder engagement, and media,” Mr Patel said. “His previous experience includes leadership positions at the NSW Minerals Council, Landcom, UrbanGrowth NSW, the NSW Opposition, and within the NSW Public Service.”

Mr Patel added that Daniel will play a key role in leading major initiatives that support GTA members and promote the positive contribution of the gaming technologies sector.

“We warmly welcome Daniel to the GTA team and look forward to him spearheading substantial initiatives at both the state and national level, helping to highlight the many positives of our very exciting industry.”

Daniel’s appointment reinforces GTA’s focus on proactive policy leadership, strong industry advocacy, and constructive engagement with governments as the sector continues to evolve.
